ENFPs share the dominant Ne function with ENTPs, giving them similarly strong divergent thinking abilities. They excel at generating ideas, seeing possibilities, and making unexpected connections — cognitive strengths that are partially captured by IQ tests but often extend beyond what standardized measures can assess.
The key difference from ENTPs is the ENFP's auxiliary Fi (introverted Feeling) rather than Ti (introverted Thinking). This means ENFPs filter their ideas through personal values and emotional resonance rather than pure logic, which can be a disadvantage on IQ tests that exclusively reward logical reasoning. Their creative intelligence is enormous, but conventional IQ measures may not fully capture it.
ENFPs are also one of the more common personality types, which means their average is pulled toward the population mean by sheer numbers. Highly intelligent ENFPs are abundant, but so are average-IQ ENFPs. Their scores on IQ tests often show strength in verbal and creative reasoning with more variable performance on mathematical and spatial tasks.
