ESTPs lead with extraverted Sensing (Se) supported by introverted Thinking (Ti). Se gives them exceptional real-time awareness and the ability to process sensory information rapidly, while Ti provides the logical framework to make sense of it. This combination creates remarkable practical intelligence and split-second decision-making ability.
On standard IQ tests, ESTPs score close to the population average, but this number may significantly understate their cognitive abilities. Their intelligence is heavily oriented toward real-world, physical-spatial, and interpersonal domains — areas that traditional IQ tests do not fully measure.
ESTPs often score well on spatial reasoning and may surprise with strong logical performance when engaged, but their Se preference for action over reflection can work against them on tests that require prolonged, abstract concentration.
