ISFJ Average IQ
Cognitive Strengths
Analysis
ISFJs lead with introverted Sensing (Si) and support it with extraverted Feeling (Fe). Si gives them an outstanding memory for details and established procedures, which translates to solid performance on working memory and factual recall subtests of IQ assessments.
Their average IQ score sits right around the population mean, but this reflects the type's massive population share (ISFJs are the most common type) rather than any cognitive limitation. As the largest type group, their average naturally converges toward the overall population average. Many individual ISFJs score well above this mean.
ISFJs may be somewhat disadvantaged on IQ tests by their Fe function, which orients them toward social harmony rather than competitive performance, and by their Si preference for familiar material over novel, abstract problems. Their cognitive strengths — reliability, attention to detail, and interpersonal perceptiveness — are essential real-world skills that standardized IQ tests are not designed to measure.
